Skene. of Hillsdale, well known as a Dornoch boy,) has received a unanimous call to Baltimore and Coldâ€" streams, near Cobourg. Mr. Skene will accept the call, and expects to leaye Hillsdale in about a monthâ€" Rev J W Magwood of Arthur, well and fayorably known here, will preach morning and evening in the Metbodist Church next Sunday in the interests of Educational Work. _ Revy Mr Smith will take Mr Magwood‘s work at Arthur. Mr. Jas. Inkster, of Wareham, Osprey Tp., lately from Orkney, Scotlaud. was a guest of Mr. Win. Guthrie last week. He walked the 25 miles here in 6 hours, 20 min., a good #speed considering the condition of the roads. Mr Thos Ryan, son of Geo., of town. is employed as brakesman on G T R running out of Palmerston. _ An injury to his knee in Galt yard compelled him to lie off tor a few days, Mr. David Thompson, of Orkney, Scotland, came to town last Saturday after a three weeks‘ voyage and 1« in the employ of his cousin, Mr. Wim.
