Sparling went to St. Mary‘s Monday, on a yisit to his uncle, MrShires who met with a severe accident to his head by a fall. Dr Rogers, Ingersoll, formerly a medical student with Dr Jamieson, is visiting his relatives Inspector and Mrs Crmpbell for a few days. H.H. Miller. M. 2. was on the grounds, Show dav. and met with many friends, Mrs Millet was also along and called on Mrs Carson. an old friena. Mrs C. MacLean was taken ill last week with a serious cold, but the auxâ€" iety of herfriends has been relieved by learning of her satisfactory recovery. Miss Hepzibah Wright, Kincardine, took in the Show last week and was a guest of relatives here. She yisited her brother at Proton Station for a day. Mr Wm. Legate bas bought a farm near the Rocky. He wasn‘s enamored of the west, and has decided to stick to Ontario. _ He moves on to Lis farm next week. Toâ€"day, Wednesday, Miss Annabell, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ww Mclivride Craighurst. is giving beart and hand in marriage to a Mr Richardson of that place. Much joy. Mr Sproule, the energetic Secretary of East Grey Show. was in town iast week, and secured Mr Wim Black as judge in the horse classes at the show being held there this week. Mr Jas. Matthews, of the 10th con. Egremont returned last Wednesday from an enjoyable trip visiting Toronto Ottawa and about 20 miles beyond the latter city. In Ottawa he called on Mr 8, Acheson, an old neighbor, who is Principal of Stittaville school, which is a few miles out of Ottawa. He found theru well excepting Mrs A. who met with a bad accident during the summer and has not qunte recovered. Mrs A, bas two daughters teaching in Ottawa and a son in the Telegram offticeâ€"and one at home. Mr _ Mathews‘ hand which he badly sprained a few days before he left home is not well yet. Review to Jan. 1,‘07, $ The sewiâ€"annual meeting of the Ruriâ€" decanal chapser of Grey was held in Markâ€" dale on the afternoon of Tuesday, Sepâ€" tember 19th. The members met in Christ Church at 2.30, the Rey. J. Ardill, Rurai Dean, in the chair. The Rey. E Appleâ€" yard was secretary. Rev J. R. Newell read the pinetyâ€"first Psalm, and Rev. G. M. Franklin said the prayers. One of the most important matters on the agenda paper was the advisability of closing the mission station at Rayenna, Collingwood township. ‘The parish of Heathcote which is in charge of the Rev. J. G. Hooper is as present composed of Heathcote, Banks, Duncan and Ravenua. Mr Hooper said that the people who had coutributed to the support of services at Ravenna belongâ€" ed rightfully to two other pariskes, and that it would be in his iaterest and that of the Church to close the said mis«ion staâ€" tion. The Chapter by motion made the desired recommendation to the Executive Committee of the diocese. After the disposal of other minor matâ€" ters of busines«, there was a consultation as to the pruceedings of the next meeting ot the Chapter. A programme was sugâ€" gested, which, if carried out, should proye interesting. It will consist of papers or addresses ou living issues of the day by the Rural Dean and by tho Rey, Messre, Newell, Bice and others. A nmssions committee was elected, con sisting oféthe Raral Deaun, excfficio, Rev. Messrs Brown aud Newell, and Messrs Mills and Mockridge. A hearty vote of shanks was tendered Rev. J. R. and Mre Newell for the hospiâ€" tality provided at the Rectory for all who atteuded the meeting. At 7 30 evensony was held in the church. The Rev. W. G. Reilly read prayers and the Rev. Rural Dean Ardill preached the sermon from Ex. 3: 4. Unfortunately the weather was most unfavorable, but those who ventured out in the rain were well repayed in hbearing a most excelleut disâ€" course.
