Kelly, of Markdale, refereed. | We learn as we go to press, August 1, that the output tor the month of Juâ€" ly is 36500 barrels, which is the highâ€" est monthly make yet reached in the history of the mill. We belieye we are safe in saying that no other 8â€" rotary mill ever reached these figures yet the management are not resting on their oars but promise greater things still. Chesley has now four automobiles. It is surprising that with the estabâ€" lishment of new cement industries the demand still keeps up. It goes to show that more and more uses are being found for this comparativeâ€" ly new material. is not as profitably employed as might be with only 8 rotaries. A proposal has been made that at the annual meeiing sanction should be secured for the installation of two new rotaries and another Ball grinding mill, the other departments being alâ€" ready capable of attending to the inâ€" creased output contemplated, The lineâ€"up : But this increased output has brought a new situation. It is found that one set of men on dredge and railway cannot supply marl enough in twelve hours to run the twenty â€" four. So a day and night set has been put on resulting in another difâ€" ficulty that the time of the two sets The output is now from 200 to 300 barrels a day more than the best ot last season and the increase in quanâ€" tity bas, as we bhave remarked before made no deterioration in quality, nor in the demand for the ** National " brand. So we are assured. toâ€"day. From a beggarly 15 or 16 cents on the dollar it has risen to 70 cents and before long will be at par as it deserves to be. From the wealth of material in our locality we see no reason why it should not go above par. The silent assets of onr marl beds is a standing security that the stock is giltâ€"edged always assumâ€" ing we have such management as we have at present. While gratifying to the shareholdâ€" ers it is also a deep satisfaction to us that we had a share in the fight to retain the mill. Our constant advice was hold on to your stock and those wh)o took‘t‘hat advice will not be sorry This is exceedingly gratifying news no doubt, and is a trtbute to the practical manager and his staff as well as to the energetic President and Board of Directors. Not only so, but there is every prospect that at the close of the seaâ€" son another dividend of at least an equal amount will be available withâ€" out unduly drawing on the resources of the company. Shareholders of the N, P.,C. Co. will be gratified to learn that at a meeting of the Directors on Friday last it was decided to declare a diviâ€" dend of 5 per cent on Sept 1st next. The phenomenal run of this year has enabled the management to make provision not only for the bones of the old debt, but for that contracted during the uncertain days of last winter when the sudden retirement of the manager and closing down of the mill put a stop to earning powers. January Ist, 1907, for 25¢ Dividend Declared. Junior Lacrosse. | â€" While we are not a prophet or the | son of a prophet but it is becoming a peculiar fad to give weather forecasts, lso here is our prediction for this | month : _ During the first half there: ‘lwill be some brisk winds from the‘ | north. but every day the sun wil! rise, | and often there‘ll be gloomy skies ; some days, however, may be fair, with southern winds and mellow air. Those things will happen sure we! know, because they always happen so. This good month‘s moon will get full, and office seekers work their " pull, " Some lucky ones will land the prize, while other men esteemed as wise will fail in all they undertake ,and lind they‘ve made a bad mistake, {for Christians to fortune ride while modest worth is thrust aside, These things will happen sure we know, beâ€" icause they‘ye always happened so. In this month of August sun the boys and girls will haye their fun, They‘ll go to parties, dance and spark ; they‘ll kiss each other in the dark : they‘ll marry and begin their life, a happy, hopeful man and wife. and sometime they will own a kid, just like their dads and mammies did. These things | will happen, sure, we know, hecs.unel they‘ve always happened so., BUSINESS A BaArGAIN.â€"For a short time we will club the Farmers‘ Sun and the Reâ€" view to Jan. 1 1907 for 6Octs to new subscribers.
