KENNEDY & KERGAN NERVOUS DEBILITY CURED Friday‘s rain threatened to spoil the annual picnic in Derby‘s Woods. But everyone was glad of the rain so they all turned out and had quite a happy afternoon. After the lunch was over there was a program conâ€" sisting of singing by the Guild Choir and by the school children, speeches by:Mr Wm Allen of Vu-n:f, Mr D. Leith of Con 2, Mr Robt. B gham of Mr and Mrs Hugh Falton and Miss Isabelle took in the Bananna Social given by the Ladies‘ Institute at Ayton on Tuesday evening last. Mr Thos. Nothing in the way of a Cough is quite so annoying as a tickling, teasing wheezing, bronchial Cough, The quickâ€" est relief comes perhaps from a preâ€" scription known to Druggists everywhere as Dr Shoop‘s Cough Remedy. And besides, it is so thoroughly barmless that mothers give it with perfect safety even to the youngest babes. The tender leaves of a simple mountain shrub, give to Dr Shoop‘s Cough Remedy its reâ€" markable curative effect. Jt is tenly a most certain and «rustworthy prescripâ€" tion. Sold by MacFarlave & Co. Mr and Mrs John Byers of Toronto, vlig‘ted over the weekâ€"end with Mr T. Byers and family . Mr Angas McKeebnie is busy at present veneering bis house and other repairs. The Rev. Mr Mather on and family will be leaying for their holiday residence at Muskoka on Jaiv 13th. The Rev. Dr Mallen late of Fergus will preach the last two Sandays in July and arrangements are made for the Rev. Mr Berry to take the next twoSabbaths by having union serâ€" vices, We are very sorry to hear of the serious illness of Mr George Arrowâ€" smith‘s only son of Pomona but while there is life there is hope and we hope that this young man‘s lifle may yet be spared . The grader bas been doing good work on the south line and other places auring the past week. Teachers are all away at their several homes or"some other place for the next six weeks, Mr and Mrs Neil McKinnon of the Poss Oflice here visited friends at Paisley and Port Eigin daring the past week. We bad the pleasure of attending the Jubilee services held in Durham on Sunday the 27th inst. and was greatly delighted to listen to the yenerable Dr Fletcher‘s eloqnence as a pulpit orator and to the grand singing but on Sacrainental occasions slower music would sound with more solemnity. The old tuneof St. Paul‘s and that fine old paraphrase " Oh God of Bethel by whose hands &c." would sound as well if sung to the old, time of 50 or 100 years ago at a Communion season but on other ocâ€" casions faster time is more lively. In looking around and taking a yview of the vast assembly on that solemn oecasion we could see many of the dear old fople whose day is far spent and the shades of evening now drawing nigh we fancy we could picture in their faces that their thoughts flew back as by electricity to the days of their youth fifty or more years ago when they worshipâ€" ped, not in a fine brick church furâ€" nished with an expensive pipe organ and cushioned seats but in old log barns where sometimes the crowihg of fowl would sound as it they were joining in, in asâ€"isting the precentor to carry out the tune, not Hymns, but the old Psalms. Quite a change in the weather. On Saturday last the 3rd of July from the intense heat of the previous week to cool and we almost say cold weather and some driving used overâ€" coats and mitts. . Slight showers of rain on Friday which helps the parched ground a little as crops were beginning to suffer for want of rain. Gaelic Sacrament in the Presbyâ€" terian church here last Sunday and wasfairly well attended but might be better as there are such a number of young and old that can talk and understand it all right. But the poor old f)eople that really needed the old language are gettivng very few in numbers for every Communion season finds some missing that have passed from the scenes of time since the preceding one. Foctball and baseball are the chiet amusement to while away the long summer evening by those who don‘t feel tired enough after their day‘s work at their daily calling. The first of July was quictly observed here but some went to Flesherton and others to Dromore and some to Torozto and other points taking advantage of the cheap rates. o# @ 4@ _ Hampden Priceville A failing tiny nerveâ€"no larger than the finest silken thread â€"takes from the Heart its impulse, its power, its reguâ€" larity, The Stomach also bas its hidâ€" den, or inside nerye. 1t was Dr Bboop who first told us it was wrong to drag a weak or failing Stomach, Heart or Kidnevs. â€"His prescriptionâ€"Dr Shoop‘s Restorativeâ€"is ‘diregtgd straight for the cauâ€"e of these ailmentsâ€"tlesp woerk and faltering inside nerves, This, no doubt clearly explains why the Restorâ€" ative has of late grown so rapidly in popularity. _ Druggists say that those who test the Restorative even for a few days soon become fully convinced of its wonderful merit, Anyway, don‘t drug the organ, Treating the panee of sickness is the only sensible and successful way., Sold h Mr Tom Campbell left Tuesday, the 28rd on an extended trip to Vanâ€" couver, Scattle and other western points: We think that one of the young men west of oyr burg should be more careful to fulfil his promise, as a friend of his appeared much disapâ€" pointed on not meeting him at baseâ€" ball practice at Sarkett‘s Corner on Saturday e€fening. _ What do you think Wili ?2 John Hill has the contract of reâ€" roofing and making other repairs on J.
