Through the conrtesy of Dr Hutton. a prominent member of the Order we are able to giye the following summary of the High Court proceediogs. The High Court of Central Ontario Independent Order of Foresters met here toâ€"day. Fully 270 subordinate courts, representing 18,000 members, sent over 300 delegates to represent them at this the thirteenth High Court mesting, Bro. J T Scolt, H C R, presided, The town is gaily decorated. Citizens generally baye placed their homes at the disposal of the billeting comumittee for the entcrtainment of delegates, An adldress of welcome was read by Bro. J T Lewis for the local court which was supplemented by an admirable apeech by Ero. 8 Charters, M P P for Peel. ‘ The report of the H C R Bro. J T Scott, was a complete and detailed reâ€" port of the work and was received with enthusiasm. . From the report it appears that 2,227 applications were received in this High Court jurisdiction during the year, of whom 2,638 were accepted, and 156 members of the jurisdiction joined the grest majority during the year. The death rate throughout the order for the vear has been about eight in one the year thousand. PA The benefits paid in Central Ontario amounted to $280,170 for last year. The accumulated fands of the Order on the 1st of August showed $14,063,â€" 960.70, an increase of $1,377,231.61 for the past twelye months, and the total benefits paid for 1908, $2,722, 627, The various standing committees were hamâ€" ed by the H C R.
