ABRAHAM COMPANY SALE The semi fin@x1 experience of Durâ€" ham‘s Juvenile Lacrosse team was rather short lived,â€"eight days to be exact, After taking Hanover‘s measâ€" ure in Mt Forest and when the Maitâ€" lands of To:onto had trimmed Brampâ€" ton, only three teams, Duashams, Maitlands and Bracebridge were left in the ranmnog in the Javenile series. The (wo former clashed at Orangeâ€" ville list Thursday and sid to relate, it was the Durhams who dropped, Condition, class and experience tell almost the whole story. _ The Maitâ€" lands in constant training in gyronasâ€" um and athletic games, arein the pink of condition the year round. _ They bhave a well arranged system of attack, an almost impregnable defence and the largest bunch of "kids" the locals eyer set eyes on in any Juvenile serâ€" ies _ Durham boys were lax as regards keeping in shape and owing to a style of facing stick eheck allowed by Refâ€"/ eree Fravk Doyle of Toronto but not by others could not penetrate the Maitland defence. The blue and whites scored their only goal after 4 minutes play and the Ma«itlands took two before quarter time, _ Half time score was 4â€"1, three quarter 6â€"I, and fuil time 11â€"1. . The Darhams had a much greater share of the play than the score would indicate, but their shooting chiefly at long range was ineftective. AYION .+:.« ...3 1s cÂ¥+s Chatsworth.......... Referee Doyle was plainly partial to Maitlands at the start and got himâ€" self into a hornet‘s nest when at end of first quarter. _ Durbam players and Orangeville spectators surrounded hi and forcibly called him down for penâ€" alizing Calder a minute or two prevâ€" 10us for a fair check. _ Doyle lost his temper as well for a few s2conds, but for the balance of the game his work was a decided improvement and throughout he had fifteen Maitlands and eleven Durhams at the fense in his endeavor to keep the garce clean. More spice was added when Orangeâ€" vilie‘s Chief of Police collared two Maitlands for fighting and with their two Dutham adversaries got 15 min. rest apiece, _ An unfortunate accident was that happening to Grant, one of theheadiest of tke Durhams, who wrenched bis knee stepping into a hollow, and is quite lame as a result.
