McLean was born in Argyleshire. Scotland, seventy five years ago of good old Highland stoek and came with his parentsto Canada at the age of 15. _ They setâ€" tled near Durbam where bhe spent the rest of his boybood till wanderâ€" lust and the love of the water took 'him sailing the Great Lakes. After some years spent on the Lakes he gave up sailing and went into minâ€" |ing at which he spent many years.
