The Annual District Meeting of South Grey Women‘s Institute met in the Libra- ry here with a goodly number of delegates attending from Ayton. Drornore, Dornoch Hanover, Holstein. Zion and Durham, the President, Mrs. Dr. Eaton of Ayton, in the chair. ' Very encouraging reports were read by the various delegates of their work chiefly Red Cross, and how they raised money to carry on their work in addition to help, which some of the townships give to Red Cross societies. From the whole district was raised 81328.62, and expendi- ture was $1028.09. leaving a balance on hand of $300.53. A vote was taken to give 81 from each branch in the Coun- ty, to support the County Institute which meets at Owen Sound this year, at which a large number was expected to attend from the various branches. After the business meeting was over a fine paper on "Books" was.read by Mrs. D. P. Col- eridge of Holstein, who is so well fitted to speak on that subject. We hope to give it to our readers sometime in the future. The officers were all re-elected. Mrs. Dr. Easton of Ayton Pres., Mrs. W. Rogers, Holstein, Vice-President, Mrs. T. MtGirr, Durham, Secy-Treas. South Grey Women's Institute Those attending from Ayton were Mes- dames Easton, Damm. Schnell. and an- other young lady, who with Mrs Easton sang Miss Hahn's fine patriotic song "On, Canadians, on" in excellent voice. Those present from Hanover were Mesdames Mills, Brandonand Taylor ; from Hol- stein, Mesdames Rogers, Coleridge and Hershey ; from Dromore, Miss Renwick, Mesdames Findlay, Henry and Hunter ; from Dornoch, Mrs Dargavel and Miss Ivy, Mrs Campbell and Miss Glenna ; from Zion. Misses Robson and Davis. Tea was served to all delegates and visitors and also to the delegates from the Farmers' Institute who' were meeting at the same place upstairs in the Library.
