He was a member of the Presbyterian ch»rch, in politics, Conâ€" servative, though never a rabid partizan. He was a member of the township council for years and took a warm interest in school affairs in the days of his strength, The mother died in 1881 and the childâ€" ren surviving, are, Wm. T., on the homeâ€" stead ; Henry, near Elmwood ; Arthur at Alexandria, Ont. ; Peter in Flint, Mich. ; Wesley, Adam and Mrs Alt. Plasket in Rainv River. Deceased was born in Tipperary, Ireâ€" land 87 years ago, and came to America in his teens. He spent a while in Toronto and about ten years in Streetsville, where he married and shortly after the young couple moved to "the bush" of Bentinck and by industry and frugality steered their way successfully, through the hardâ€" ships of the time the while raising a large family of ten children of whom seven surâ€" vive. Tuesday of last week all that was morâ€" tal of the above Bentinck pioneer was laid to rest beside his kindred in Rocky Saugeen cemetery.
