It i very obliging in giving the people plenty of time to think over their grievances and they are not a few ! Of course there must not be an electiron-"till public opinion is more settled." Our present system of electing our representatives is outof date. We have not'even responsible government. Our men are elected by the majority, the minority have no voice whatever and in nine cases out of ten our members once. elected are whipped into line under the old regime of party. politics. The time has come for the people to choose men who are not tied fast to any party or group. Their choice must be men with capability. men of integrity, men of executive ability, men of persona- lity, men with vision, men who will act purely from honest motives. The time has arrived to formulate a new system of selecting our men. electing them by pro- portional representation after they are elected. When the peopleido this and not till then. shall we have a government by the people and for the people."
