A. of Trinity Church, will long l remain as an outstanding concert of 1921. ”be all star cast comprised the National :UperaticQuintette, the mohologitst, Pearl ‘O’Ncil and the classic dancers, staged and derected by Miss Sternberg of Toronto The work of the quintette in solo, duet or quartette formation revealed perfect harmony and left nothing tobe desired. The 20 minute condensed production of "The Mikado" was well staged and the different role of each was p 'rtrayed well. The monologist, Miss Pearl O'Neil won all hearts with her numbers and her clear voice was heard equally well in all parts of the hall. Part If of the concert resolved itself into a musical operatta, "The Gypsy Maid"with agypsy fair in progress as the curtain arises. The catchy melodies of gypsy life penetrated the whole oper ata and their acting and singing revealed excellent taste and musical qualities of the highest order. In most becoming cesium: s they ware bewitching. The background of stage was greatly improved by a green Curtain suspended the width of the stage and fec, tovned with Chinvee lanterns The Classic Dancers were as novel as they were beautiful. In bewitching cos- tumes they were exct ptionany charming and beautifully portrayed the rhythm of motion. The A. Y. P. A. are to be commended on bringing a cast of this calibre to town as some shows presented here at 25c are dear in comparison to this at 75c. "Tod" gave Campiete satisfac- tion and rersarked it was as clean a match as he had ever witnessed. It was a glorious opening that Durham staged in her first season in the Ontario Hockey Association when they "carried off the bacon" right in the city of Owen Sound by a score of 3-2 last F.riday night, And this on top of a hard game here with Cheley the night previous. Owen Sound like Durham, has had little ice previously this season. They had but one practice while Durham had little more-the Chesley garniin addition to a practice. GAMES T PLAY ; Jan.
