That the said Corporation of the Town of Durham do hereby guarantee the due payment of the debenturas of the said Jackson Manufacturing Company to the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to be issued as aforesaid acâ€" cording to the terms of the said debenâ€" tures. 2. The said: debentures shall bear inâ€" terest at the rate of six per cent per anâ€" num payable yearly at the Standard Bank of Canada at the Town of Durham, in each year during the currency thereof and shall be issued for the aggregate amount, including both the interest and the annual instalment of principal, due in each year during the period for which the said debentures shall run. 3. That upon each of the debentures respectively shall be written or printed the following form of guarantee ; "Payâ€" ment of this debenture and interest thereâ€" on guaranteed by the Corporation of the 7'l'st:‘o;wn of Durham under Byâ€"law number AND WHEREAS it is desirable to issue the said debentures at one time and to make the principal of the said debt repayable by yearly sums during the period of twenty years, being the currency of said debentures, said yearly sums being of such respective amounts that the aggregate amouut payable in each year for principal a‘d interest of the said debt shall be as nearly as possible equal to the amount so payable in each of the other nineteen years of said period. AND WHEREAS the amount of the existing debenture debs of the said Muâ€" nicipality i# One Hundred and Thirteen Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty Two Dollars and Eightyâ€"three cents, ($113,â€" 622 83), whereof no part of the principal or interest is in arrears. 4. The Mayor of the said Town of Durham is hereby authorized and diâ€" rected to sign the said guarantee on each of the sail debentures on bebaif of the said Corporation of the Town of Durham, and the Clerk of the said Corâ€" poration is hbereby authorized aud diâ€" reeted to countersign the same respecâ€" tively and to aflix the Corporate Seal of the Corporation of the Town of Durhaw, AND WHEREAS the said debentures of the Jackson Manufacturing Company will sell more readily if guaranteed by the said corporation of the said Town of Durham, and the said Municipal Council in view of the circumstances, and the benefit likely to accrue to the said Muniâ€" cipality from the erection of the said Jackson Manufacturing Woodenware Plant, deem it expedient to guarantee the due payment of the said debentures upon maturity thereof respectively. AND WHEREAS the amount of the whole rateable property of the Town of Durham, according to the last revised assessment roll is Four Hundred and Fortyâ€"eight Thousand Seven Hundred and Eightyâ€"Five Dollars ($448.785.00.) AND WHEREAS in order for the erecâ€" tion, completion and equipment of the said Woodenware plant, it will be necesâ€" sary for the said Jackson Manufacturing Company to borrow the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), which sum shall be applied to the completion, erection and equipment of said Woodenâ€" ware Plant, and not otherwise, and more particularly set Out in an agreement made provigionally between the Corporation and the said Company. AND WHEREAS in order for the erection, completion, equipment of the said Woodenware Manufacturing plant, it will be necessary for the said Jackson Manufacturing Company to borrow the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars, ($10,000 ) which sum shall be applied to the comâ€" pletion, erection and eguiprnent of said woodenware plant. and not otherwise, and more particularly set out in an Agreement made provisionally between the Corporation and the said Company. AND WHEREAS the said Jackson Manufacturing Company have applied to the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Durham. for a fixed assessment of one thousand dollars ($1000,00) on the lands and buildings as at present for general purposes and for exemption from the payment of Municipal taxes on the balance of assessment with the exception of school taxes and local imâ€" provement taxes for a period of ten years from the final passing of the within byâ€"law.
