Fora semiâ€" | final however there was nothing excitâ€" ;ing about it, as Durham did not over | exert themselves, and were content with | a safe lead. In reality it was not a semiâ€" | final but anexhibition game. Southampâ€" | ton defaulted thegame and their chances | beforehand, as they could not muster ‘ enough players and brought along three of Paisley‘s best stick artists to make [abetter game. The Soutampton boys ‘are geod sports, and deserve credit for IEtheir district showing. With only one ‘ manavailable for spare, with seven of their players just new to the game this ; season, they won their district. . The {loss of players to the West, and unable |to get off work, crippled them for their | semiâ€"final here, so with no hope of overâ€" f;aking the big lead the experienced :Durbams ran up in Southampton, they did their best under the circumstances , to provide a closer contest in Durham. Hay fever and asthma are quickly reâ€" lieved with "Razâ€"mah." _ Time to fight Rheumatism is the warm weather. Razt mah and T. R.C.‘s both sold by S Mcâ€" Beth. When Durham‘s Juvenile lacrosse artists.lost by only 1 goal, 6â€"5, in Hanâ€" over last week both the local team and supporters expected to take Hanover‘s measure in the return game here Friday. Contrary to expectations however, Hanâ€" over came back stronger, and quashed the locals aspirations with a6â€"2 trimâ€" ming. _ The Durham lads couldn‘t proâ€" duce much effective team play and did some loose passing, while the Hanover defence broke up almost all local geal attacks before they were dangerous. It was the Durhams off day, and on the play, Hanover earned the right to conâ€" test the semiâ€"finals. The score by quarâ€" ters was 3 0, 4â€"0, 4â€"2, 6â€"2. _ Harold: Boettzer of Hanover refereed. ‘ There was a fair crowd, but not as many as might be jooked for at a semi. final. _ The general belief that Durham had the round cinched after their Southâ€" ampton victory was accountable. Re. feree Jack of Toronto officiated satisâ€" factorily. Durham intermediatelacrosse team has advanced one step farther than last year in the race for the intermediate flag. Then they lost out in the first round semiâ€"finals with Sarnia. This year they have captured the iâ€"st round frem Southâ€" ampton and are now into the second with Orillia.
