McKinnon on Friday evening last, and all enjoyed themselves in the usual manner at such gatherings. They made the presentation nf’a Reductions | During part of the past two weeks we spent at the old chome with our brother and sister on the D. Road, consequently â€" we did not contribute anything to the Review. The weathâ€" er was changeable and is still. Good sleighing for a few days on the road and good slaying also in the surâ€" rounding woods by the huntsmen. We have been endeavoring to exercise ourselves by splitting a few weeks burning of wood of the best material on the old homestead woods. We did not get to our late home on the S. Line, but saw many of our good old friends and neighbors from that part and pleased to hear they were all fairly well. ce k 2eA PRICEVILLE & GLENELG Miss Victoria McMillan, teacher near Corbetton, is home, her school being closed on account of scarlet fever in the section. Mr and Mrs Fred Karstedt journeyâ€" ed to Toronto by motor over the week end to visit the latter‘s uncle, over from Scotland. Mr J. M. Mcâ€" Gillivray accompanied them that far on his way for further inspection and registration of foxes throughout the country. _A large consignment of foxes was shipped on Friday last to a silver fox farm, near West Toronâ€" to, while more are coming to take their place. Bees have been common and plenâ€" tiful this last week, scrubbing, paintâ€" ing and papering the Manse for the new occupants, Rev. Mr and Mrs. McCormack. Preparations are also being made for a Christmas entertainment on De« 23rd, when a good time is promâ€" ised. Mr Walter Turnbull last week movâ€" ed his family on the South Line near the corner. Lean, was married to Miss Blanch Belfry of Victoria Harbor, by the Rev. A. Sutherland. The young couple were ably supported by Mr. Archie Burnet and Miss Olive Mcâ€" Meekin. They will take up houseâ€" keeping on the groom‘s farm . on the gravel road. We extend our best wishes to this young couple for a happy married life. Married, on"Fridé? (;vâ€"'g;x‘l'ng. Dec. 4th, at the Manse, Mr Wreaford Mcâ€" !.ean. son of Mr and Mrs Arch. Mcâ€" Rev. Mr. Conkle will preach at the morning â€" service, Sunday, Dec. 13th to the Presbyterian congregaâ€" tion, and will officially open McKinâ€" non Hall as a place of worship. Sunâ€" day evening he will deliver an illusâ€" trated lecture in the United Church in aid of the Lepers. Monday evâ€" ening the Presbyterians will hold a social gathering in the Hall. Mr and Mrs F. G. Karstedt and Mr J, M. McQGillivray, motored to Toronâ€" to on Sunday. Rev. Mr Reede of Hillsburg, occuâ€" pied the pulpit of the Presbyterian church here on Sunday, Rev. Suthâ€" erland preaching in Dundalk. Mrs Kate McDonald left on Friday for New York, where she will spend the next few months with her daughâ€" ter, Mrs W. Parslow. Campbell in Iowa. â€" Mr Campâ€" | bell was born here 65 years ago and | until about 10 years ago, lived conâ€" | tinuously here. He was ever a busy iman and always honorable in his ]work and transactions and greatly | respected by all. Much sympathy is | felt for Mrs. Campbell and family, in | this, their great trouble. |__ Anniversary services last Sunday, | considering roads and weather, were ‘a success. Rev. Mr Reede of Hillsâ€" | burg, preached two splendid sermons !and the home choir, assisted by Mr. ‘and Mrs ‘Arch McDonald and Miss Jelly of Priceville, were much apâ€" preciated. The church was well filâ€" |\led at both services. Then on Monâ€" day evening the fowl supper was a success. Although the roads kept talent from being present that was expected, it is gratifying that in cases of emergency, there is considâ€" erable home talent that can always be relied upon, and a pleasant ev-l ening was spent. One of the most pleasing features was the presence of those of other denominations, showing that there is union of de sire prevailing in this section, which we trust may ever grow stronger and that all may feel that there is John Lane met with an accident yesterday while loading a large stone on t he sleigh. It slipped, falâ€" ling on his leg and badly injuring the knee. The Dr. was called, bound it up and sentenced him to at least a week in bed. We hope it may then be better as Jack is not very fond of idleness. N. D. Clark was greatly surprised last week to be left sitting on the road and his team running for all they were worth away from him. The draw bolf had jumped out and the whiffletrees striking the horse‘s heels, they let out. Beyond a few sore heels, no great harm resulted. Mr John Corbett has this morn ing gone to OwenASoqn_d on the jury The social at Top Cliff will be next Friday evening, the 11th, and a good attendance is expected. The same evâ€" ening at Ritchie‘s school, Edge Hill, a box social is being held. Too bad we cannot go to both the same evenâ€" ing, so the good lady teachers will have to excuse those who would like to attend, had they been on different evenings. _ Misses McCuaig and Mcâ€" Kechnie will accept the good wishes of their sections respectively that their concerts be a success. M. P.? We are not inviting a majorâ€" itvy of the good sex to overule the other sex, but to begin as we have only one of the sex in Ontario. One would do as an experiment to keep the other feilow in good manners. Mr Angus Hooper‘s sale on Monâ€" day of last week went well under the hammer of Auctioneer McDonald. Mr Hooper, we understand, is to move to Durham soon and his many wellâ€" wishers regret his removal from the old home, as he was always an obâ€" liging neighbor. It is said that Glenelg is to have a deputy reeve in 1926, but it appears that the law debars women on the voters‘ lists to vote. Well some women have more sense than men. Is there any lady in Glenelg who would allow her.to be nominated for Councillor ? If so, why shouldn‘t she Pave supporters, as well as our lady We congratulate Mr Wreaford Mcâ€" Lean and Miss Belfry in their recâ€" ent union and wish them long life and prosperity. 1| _ For two Sundays we attended pubâ€" ‘| lic worship in Priceville, in the old |, Post Office, which is renewed by beâ€" ; ing made a Presbyterian meeting house well fitted up. Last Sunday, Rev, Mr Reede of Hillsburg preached from the words, "Christ the same, | yesterday, toâ€"day and forever," in ‘plain language, earnestly delivered. Mr Reede must be a Scotsman for ,when pronouncing ‘Amen‘ he said it | in good broad dialect. _ The Sunday . ‘prevlous, the pastor, Rev. Mr Suth | erland, gave an excellent sermon on ’ "press onward towards the mark‘ etc. | There was a crowded hall on both ;Sundays. Also the Sunday School | there is well atternded. Mr and Mrs ; Thos,. Nichol deserve credit for the | interest they take in the S. S. as | well as many others as teachers. Sorry to hear of the sudden death of Thos. Campbell of Iowa. He was an uncle of our lady M.P. Angus McVicar has fitted up his shop in good order and doing a good business. _ Also the other two merâ€" chants are receiving their share of the busy season‘s trade. Mr and Mrs Hector McEachern tisited the McDonald‘s at Edge Hill recently. Mr Thos. Nichol has finished the Good Roads to Durham last week and took all the machinery up to his own place. We were pleased to meet so many of our old friends in Priceville. Mr. Hugh McKinnon is yet quite lively and a good attendant every Sunday in the new Hall. We are always pleased to read the Swinton Park correspondent‘s items. Miss Annie Shortreed is attending behind the counter at Karstedt‘s, Priceville. Annie is a good girl for the business. Messrs Thos. Turnbull and Hector McDonald of Edge Hill are in Toronâ€" to this week as delegates for their different U.F.O. Clubs. The United Church is well attendâ€" ed also and the pastor always gives good services to a well filled house. The S. S. is also well attended, the veteran W. Ramage being superinâ€" tendent, assisted by Allan Mclnnis and others as teachers. Mr R. is alâ€" so leader of the praise part of the service, and by his experience of 50 years ag choir leader, is well qualiâ€" fied to fill the office most efficiently. So summing it all up, the people of Priceville and vicinity should be in reality good citizens in temporal as well as religious duties.
