McVicar, we are pleased to report, was able to be up and outside Sunday for the first time since ber recent severe illness. The building is of stone and is an exceiâ€" lent structure for the purpose for which it has been erected and reâ€" flects ‘tredit on the contractor, Wm. Laidlaw of this town. The building was comfortably filled by 7.30 o‘clous. Bunessan choir, under the leadership of Mr Geo. Binnie, opened the yproâ€" ceedings by singing a piece, after which a blessing was asked and in an incredibly short time everyone was supplied with tea and rich cake, made up in every form and style. When thanks had been returned, R. Aljoe, Esq. was appointed chairman. After a brief address on the schoolâ€" building, the Choir was called upon for another piece. Wm â€" Ferguson, Public School Inspector, gave an inâ€" teresting address, trying to impress upon the young the necessity of unâ€" derstanding what they read and to be careful in little things. J. Townâ€" send of the Review congratulated tne section on the excellence of the new building and tried to encourage tne young to study. Rev. Mr Dunlop of Durham spoke on the activity of the young mind and showed that they should be taught right principles. Rev. Mr Wray spoke of cheerfulness, variety of taste, etc. and gave a humâ€" orous and interesting address which elicidated a great deal of mirth. Dr Theodore â€" Fallaise, Pickering, his mother, Mrs J.
