She plans to make a tour of that country in a Gypsy Moth plane, the same type of ship with which she established an altitude record of 24,â€" 700 feet for light planes at the Croyâ€" don Airdrome last month. Incidentally, in making her altitude fiight Lady Heath flew to a greater height than had ever been attained by any woman flyer. She made the climb in an hour and forty minutes. The plane was powered with.a Cirrus moâ€" tor. * Earlier this year Lady Heath made a flight alone from Cape Town, South Africa, to London in an Avroâ€"Avian, covering the 10,000 miles in 165 fiying hours. On the first lap of the fight, from Jobannesburg, she suffered from the torrid heat and fainted soon after landing near the camp of a native tribe. The natives found her and re vived her. She stayed with them two days before continuing to Matabele, Kafirland, and across German Africa. She wore ordinary street clothing during the entire journey, asserting that fying togs were unmecessary and that she was able to keep her nose powdered most of the time. The Avro Avian plane which she used for this Aight now belongs to Miss Amelia Earhart, who recently completed a tour across the country and back in It. When Lady Heath owned it she had it painted a turquoise to match the stones in her ring. She made the enâ€" tire flight without any serious meâ€" chanical trouble. But she did experience trouble with political authorities. Sudanese offiâ€" clals refused to permit her to cross their territory without an escort. She overcame this difficulty by fiying her plane north in company with that of Lieutenant Bentley of the South African Air Force. At Cairo, however, the British auâ€" thorities locked her plane in an army shed at the Heliopolia Airdrome and refused to let her fly the Mediterraâ€" nean until she forzd an escort. After several days she was permitted to proâ€" ceed at her own risk ‘by the Air Minâ€" istry. Lady Heath‘s achievements have not been confined to aviation. She is an athlete, the holder of the women‘s record for the high jump, a founder of the Women‘s Amateur Athletic Asâ€" sociation of Great Britain and the author of the "Standard Manual on Women‘s Athletics." She has lecâ€" tured on science at Aberdeen Univerâ€" sity, and hunted big game in Africa. Slowâ€"Motion Films Used to Study Ape‘s Kinship to Humans The itinerary of her American tour has not been completed, but it will inâ€" eludeo New York, many of the larger cities east of Chicago and Canada. Cambridge, Mass.â€"Taie slow moâ€" tion picture has helped to clarify the relationship between the anthropoid ape and man. The important point disclosed is that the apes are untable to stand wholly erect, although they are more nearly able than any other animal. Man alone possesses this attribute. The research which sets defnite limits to the ability of the anthropoids in this respect was conducted by Dr. Edward Reynolds, director of the Department of Anthropology of Peabody Museum, Harvard College. The camera caught the gibbon, amallest of anthropoids, while runâ€" ning, when. to the eye, he has appearâ€" ed to be almost completely erect. The camera "stopped" the gibbon‘s moveâ€" ments sufficiently to show that he was actually but little more than half erect as to thigh position. The skeleâ€" tons of these animals, Dr. Reynolds says, are so shaped that the thigh canâ€" not be extended and, in consequence, they stand about half of man‘s erectâ€" ness. The only animal other than the anthropoids which rises naturally on Its hind legs to half erectness is the bear. "The result of the studies," Dr. Reynolds says, "shows the modificaâ€" tions of the human skeleton, which permit of the erect posture. Men alone possess the quality of being able to spring from their hind feet In any direction. This quality has been partially developed, but only partially, in the anthropoids. No sane man for a moment believes that man desconded from the apes, but that Tucy may be descended from the safi¢ common ancestor." â€"&4 Auother significant difference of the anthropoid from man is that none is able to oppose its thumb against its fngertips. He said that if war were to occur between England and the United States, Ireland‘s harâ€" bors would furnish naval bases for attacks on American commerce. The British, be said, are still es tablished in the principal seaports and British troops are garrisoned in the leading cities. He pointed out that this condition was provided for In the treaty between England and the Free State. The same treaty proâ€" vided that Ireland‘s coast defense would be undertaken by the British government until some other, &râ€" rangement could be effected. He held that Ireiand would be conâ€" sidered bostile territory by any powâ€" er with which England might be at war. Touching on the financial agreeâ€" ment between Ireland and England, he said that the amount of money Ireland was obliged to pay each year to England was more in proportion to Irish population thar England pays to the United States on the war debt. The amount is approximately $25,/ 000,000. Most of this represents anâ€" pual installments on imoney advanced by Britain to help tenants become land owners. TONIC TREATMENT FOR INDIGESTION _ The Free State now collects these installments and turns them over to the British governmeat. Indigestion Comes With a Runâ€" Down Condition â€" Relief Comes Through Enriching the Blood â€" Dr. Williams‘ Still Troublesome There are many symptoms of inâ€" digestion such as acute pain after eating, belching of wind, nausea and vomiting, bloating and pains in the region of the heart, a dread of food for the misery it causes. Dieting and the use of preâ€"digested foods may give ease, but that is all, and meanwhile the stomach grows steadily weaker. The work of digertion depends upon the blood and nerves and the only way to get rid of indigestion is to tone up the stomach through the blood, to do the work nature intended it should do. The one thorough way to do this is through the use of Dr. Williams‘ Pink Pills, which renew . the blood, strengthen the nerves and enable the stomach to do its work with ease and comfort. Neglected indigestion means prolonged misery. If you have any of the symptoms of this trouble try the tonic treatment with Dr. Williams‘ Pink Pills at once and you will be gratified with the results. Among the many who have found new health through the use of Dr. Williams‘ Pink Pills is Mrs. Ada Webb, R.R. No. 3, Prescott, Ont., who says:â€""For a long time I went through the tortures of nervous indiâ€" gestion; I call it torture because no other word can describe what I enâ€" dured. If my stomach was empty I retched. If I took food I vomited. I did not sleep, and I was steadily growâ€" ing weaker. I doctored for months but with no benefit. One day my husâ€" band said, as the treatment you have had has not helped you, why not try Dr. Williams‘ Pink Pills. I consented and he got me a supply. After I had been taking the pills for a while I knew they were helping me as the pains and retching grew less and I slept better. I gladly continued the use of the pills and in a few months I felt like a new woman, better than Eastwell, Kent.â€"Men smoking their pipes and women nursing their babies or rocking perambulators, while they listen to church services will be seen I had felt for years, and Sle to work for my husband and children again.
