Katy was never a very #trong girl and her work in a laundry taxed her strength severely. In order to save as much as she could to help out at home, she used to walk lon: blocks to her roomingâ€"house, an the change from the steamâ€"laden atmosphere of the laundry to the cold of the outside was also harmâ€" ful. At length she clu%ht a bad cold which she could not shake off, and when the doctor was called he found that she had consumption. She was sent to the Toronto Hosâ€" pital for Consumptives, and alâ€" though very downcast at first, she had not been there long before she decided that she was fortunate inâ€" deed, for within a short time the wonderful treatment and care which she received began to have thair y Mrs Wm Scott and daughter, Mrs. Mrs Jos Ciark, Conm, were week end guests at homes of Messrs W.R. and Ed. Miss: Dell Scott is home from Toâ€" ronto Normal School. Mr John Scott is very low at presâ€" ent, his life slipping away as the result of a heart condition, brought on by a fall some six weeks ago. Mr Alex McLean, accompanied by his sister Mrs. McFarlane of Toronto paid a visit to their parents here,Mr. and Mrs C. A. McLean.
