Mr. Newman of Toronto narrowly escaped what might have been a faâ€" tal accident while driving west on the County road, in front of Ralph Lamont‘s farm, losin‘ control of his car, which ran into the ditch and turned over twice. Mr. Newman was partly stunned by the accident and when he realized what had happened, found that his car had caught fire. He tried to get it out but neither doors would open. He had the presâ€" ence of mind to kick an opening in the windshield and crawled out. He ran for help, but before it arrived the flames had. reached the gas tank and were beyond control.
