Hogs sold on a basis of 7% to 8 cents f.0.b. and $8.35 for truck deliveries. market has held lambs selling at 7 accordingly. Choice butcher cattle were in strong demand at from 6% uom;mrtommmu 6 cents. Choice baby beeves made from 74 to 7%; fair to good from 6 to 7. The cow trade was active to stronger, a few top cows selling at 5 cents, but the bulk of the sates wmmadeulranlto4%. Fat cows of fair to good quality made from 3 to 4. Canners and cutters 1% to 2%. The bull trade has been slow to steady. Anna, accompanied Mrs. E. Shantz to Toronto for a week‘s visit. Mr. A. McLean, Toronto, spent the weekend at his home. The choir was enhanced by the addition of Mr. and Mrs W. G. Mcâ€" Bride, John Ritchie and A. Weir, who assisted in a couple of anthems by J. Lincoln Hall, in "Awake thou that sleepest," and "Come we ‘nea‘h the shrouded skies", which was fol lowed by the refrain of "Up from the grave He arose" with a someâ€" what changed musical setting. The choir was still further enrichâ€" ed by the fine voice of Mrs. H. B. McLean, the first time since her reâ€" covery from her broken ankle. Her daughter Anna is also an agreeable acquisition to the Amen corner. The service Sunday evening was of a purely orchestral character, in the voluntary, before and after the Sermon, which proved to be very pleasing. The congregation joined vocally in the hymns sung. Mr. Thos. Spicer had the misforâ€" tune to be thrown off the section Jigger on Thursday by an obstructâ€" ing dog, that will never do the like again . Mr and Mrs Jas. Pengelly, Glencairn and their nephew, Mr. Donald Mcâ€" Kechnie of Gloversville, New York. The three latter at W. G. A collec tion will be taken. Loyal Orange Lodge 1136 are holdâ€" ing their ‘At Home‘ in the hall on Wednesday. A play will be put on by the Bethel young people. Lunch will be served, then a dance. In Salem church a debate will be staged on Wednesday evening, May lst. We are not sure of the title, but the ladies are Dell Scott and Mrs Charlie Haw. The weather keeps quite cold, not much growth yet.. We nope it wilt soon warm up as the farmers are anâ€" xious to get to work. Wallace McCormack unfortunately had his leg broken between the anâ€" kle and knee, a clean break, but the leg was also badly bruised, by a fal« ling tree, while working for William Stewart last Tuesday morning. Walâ€" lace is in Markdale hospital and is making progress. Our sympathy is with Wallace, a young active man, just at the beginning of the busy season. Mr and Mrs Howard Watson moâ€" tored to Owen Sound last Thursday to bring home son Leslie, who has attended business college there. Miss Campbell, teacher at Booinâ€" gille school, is at her home in Listoâ€" wel for the holidays. Her aunt Miss Campbell, a returned missizonary from Banswara, Central India, will come Miss Brown, who teaches near Haâ€" milton, is at home with mother and brothers west of the Park, also a married sister and husband at the week end. Mrs Sam McMurdo is spending a few days with her brother, Mr. Dan Robinson in Markdale. Wesley Lane, of Georgetown spent the week end with his father, Mr. Geo. Lane, who is still in very poor health. Mr Robert Knox spent three days last week in Owen Sound with a dauâ€" ghter, Mrs Borden Bleich, and broâ€" ther Wm. Knox: Mr and Mrs‘Frank Hamilton of Grand Valley, spent Sunday at the parental home here, Mr Geo. Haw‘s. Miss Margaret Campbell, who is Visiting her sister, Mrs Sam Goheen, along with the Goheen family, also worshipped in the old home caurch at Swinton and renewed old acquainâ€" Mr and Mrs Wm. J. McLeod and little daughter are spending a few days at the Parslow and McLeod homes and attended their old home Church on Easter Sunday. Mrs Jack Norman of Toronto, is also a visitor at her parents‘, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Parslow. We feel the atmosphere a little disâ€" appointing. it keeps cold and Gry. Those soft balmy breezes are coming not yet. We with many others have got the distemper: with aching head and running nose, we sit with a rag in one hand and pencil in the other. Nose and hankies have been in use so many years, the nose especially is becoming sore, yet we hope we, with all our neighbors, will soon be back to normal. Easter is past and many have enâ€" joyed the weekend, the romds and weather being clean for getting aâ€" Mr and Mrs Peter McEachnie and daughter; Mr. Murray McBachnie and friend of Toronto, were Easter guests of their brother, Mr. John McEachnie. spending a few weeks at home.
