The Dramatic Society, under the direction of Mr. Bert Brebner, presâ€" ented its threeact comedy on Friâ€" day night to a packed hall. The play was exceptionally well given and the audience was kept in an uproar . of laughter until the final drop of the eurtain. _ All the players excelled Cattle classes were also well fillâ€" ed, but sheep and swine *exhibits hardly up to average. There were 65 wheep entries, mostly by Hendry _ of Chatsworth, James and George Shand. Excellent exhibits in all classes in the hall were in evidence and keen competition prevailed. Entries had to be outstanding in many cases to take even a third prize. For instance there were 14 ertries in short red earrots, 22 in pickling cucumbers, 7 and 6 in crock butter, 19 in white bread, 10 in brown bread, 13 in plain buns, 10 in jamâ€"jams, 11 in‘ tarts, 13 in raisin pie, 17 in apple jelly, 15 in chili sauce and 13 in beet pickles. _ Flowers were georgeous, Mrs. Honeyman, W. Throwing fair open to Grey County means stiff competition for/Egnlnont ladies in baking and ladies‘ work deâ€" partments. In the latter, 2 from Dunâ€" dalk, Mrs Ruttle and Mrs Ritchie, and 3 from Durham, Mrs Nichol, Mrs Davis and Mrs Mead, captured 86 Oof the 132 prizes given, or over 65%. Horse judging was moved this year from the Park to the athletic field to east, to allow more room. The horâ€" ses were of the finest 112 animals being entered. In Agricultural brood mare and spring foal, there were 9 entries in each.. Superior Exhibits, Fine _ Weather at Holstein Fair mont Ag. Society‘s fall fair at Holâ€" stein Friday last.
