We are sorry to hear she has to remain in bed for at least six months with her leg in splints . Halloween is past. Few bad boys were out in this locality, yet our mail box was filled with sticks and stones. We are blaming Neil McLeod and Billy Kinsman, as they won‘t kick. The statute labor in this west end of con. 16 is being performed these days. Some improvement, both on the bumps and vision, is noticeable. If fine weather continues long enough the roads will be improved. On Sunday last Rev Mr Jones of Grand Valley was in charge of serâ€" vices. His sermon was much appreâ€" ciated. The text "Be of good cheer" was encouraging. At the close of the service a meeting was held, Mr. Jones laying before the congregation a thought of Presbytery, whereby the congregations of Markdale, Priceville and Swinton Park might become one charge. The matter was left in aâ€" beyance for a time, until the people would consider the possibility of working such a farâ€"flung field, coverâ€" ing about 15 miles north and south. A meeting of the three congregaâ€" tions will be held ere long to discuss the matter. She enjoyed good health up until six months ago when she commenced to fail. She was born in Montreal and in girlhood the family moved to mre-‘ mont township where over sixty years ago she was wedded to Thomas Parâ€" slow. They took up housekeeping on 14 th con, Proton, and here she spent all her married life, her husband preâ€" deceasing her thirtyâ€"five years ago. Some &en . or twelve years ago she went West to live in Medicine Hat, Alta. with her daughter Margaret, Mrs. Mitchell. Interment was made there on Tuesday. This will reduce the total cost | considerably.. \ _ The dates for the Grey County visit is to be Monday, Nov. 22nd and Tuesday, Nov. 23rd, if a sufficient number wish to atterd the Fair. Although many have intimated that they would like to go on the Royal Fair Tour, only a small number have really stated definitely they will go. The result has ‘been that the plans have not been completed, as it is useâ€" less to make arrangements unless at least one hundred are going. Asmallâ€" er number would mean NO trip would be made,. | To those who may not understand why a definite number is required, permit it to be said that the rates \charged depend entirely upon numâ€" bers. Less than regular rates are charger for 25, lesser rate for 100 and | a still lesser rate for 150. This applies | to hotels, railways. Moreover, arrangeâ€" ‘ ments must be made to move the | group to and from the various places | visited, such as Massey Harris Co. | Abattoirs, Stockyards, Royal Fair and 1Hotels. These arrangements cannot | be made in a short space of time, I ‘ am therefore asking those who intend i0 go to write or phone the Departâ€" | ment of Agriculture, Markdale, before | Saturday, Nov. 6th. ! T. Stewart Cooper, EAgrlcultural Representative, .\ Grey County, At time of writing however a most favourable train rateâ€" considerably less than anticipatedâ€"has been ofâ€" fered. It was hoped that a numâ€" ber could be secured from every staâ€" tion in Grey County. It â€" isn‘t the tyro who causes the majority of the deaths and traffic accidents. It‘s the experienced driver who knows what to do with his hands but doesn‘t use his head. Last year in Ontario, 95 % of the drivers in fatal accidents bad operatâ€" ing experience of one year or more, and in the nonâ€"fatal accidents the perâ€" centage was 97.2.. Recklessness put many drivers" beâ€" hind the eight ball,"but reasonable caution and firm determination that HIGHWAY DEATHS MUST STOP will keep every driver (and pedesâ€" trian too) in the safety zone.
