Philp on Tuesday ONTARIO ARCHIVES TORONTO Robert McKinney, one of the oldest residents of Proton township, passed away at his home on Friday follownâ€" ing a brief illness, death being due to the infirmities of old age. Had he lived until July 28 he would have been 90 years of age. He was born at Georgetown, Halton _ county, went from there to East Luther and se tled near Grand Valley, when that place was known as little Toronto He moved to Proton 42 years ago and has resided there ever since. He was very highly esteemed by everyone. During his younger years he was known as a great hunter and in the Luther Swamp shot deer, bears and wolves, which were all quite numerous at:one time. He was considered a crack shot with a rifie. As a young man he assisted in cu(â€" ting of the right of way for the C. P. R. into Grand Valley. He is survived by his widow, May Elizabeth Armâ€" strong, three sons and two daughters, namely: William, Hopeville; Robert, Ceorgetown; James, Sudbury; Mrs Mary Phelps, Toronto and Mrs. W. P.
