Wale. One day lately we noticed a busy gentleman of our burg. The mail had just come. He took the paper, went out and sat on a chair on the lawn. At once he jumped up: he looked at the chair; felt seat of trousers. There had just been a shower. Milford Corbitt is busy whitewashâ€" ing cellars and barns about Honeyâ€" wood the past month. Eby Ostrander, cur local trucker, is busy day and night with wood, hay or iron. & This week Jack and Billy North of Toronto, also Wesley Porter, son of John Porter, are assisting Hardy brothers at the hay, also hoeing. Rev. James McKay of London conâ€" ducted services in the Park Sunday, and was greatly appreciated. Next Sunday, Rev. H. Mrs. Tresidder and daughters of Toronto, spent a few hours at Dick Hardy‘s on Sunday. Hubert Smith of Toronto spent the week end with Howard Watsons‘ and Mrs. Ferguson. Mrs Ferguson and Ken. entertained Mr and Mrs George Duncan, daughâ€" ters Helen. Margaret and Georgina, and sons Jack and Russell Sunday. George says he will bring the balâ€" ance of the family next trip. Neil McMillan and help are busy shingling the woodshed at his house in the Park in spare time from the hay making. Yes, we are quite warm, thankyou. And everyone is very busy at the kay, which is a fire crop: also at the hoeing, as the warm weather has caused a rapid growth and the potaâ€" to bugs came in millions. Fred Knox last week was very sick with chicken pox, but is again out, yet rather weak for hay making these warm days. _ Mr and Mrs Bill McKechnie spent Sunday evening at A. L. Hincks. ’ The funeral of the late Mrs Henâ€" ry Hooper took place on Monday afâ€" ternoon from the home of Mr Wm. Beaton where she has spent the past nine months. She was in her $4th year. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr Ashton, Flesherton. ‘The funeral was largely attended. Misses Annie and Agnes Harrow of Owen Sound attended the funeral. Interâ€" ment was made in Ebenezer cemetery Miss Mabel Everist returned to Toâ€" ronto after spending the past two. weeks with her parents Mr and Mrs Ed. As he lay on the ground, probably enjoying pleasant dreams, a threeâ€"foot garter snake came crawlâ€" ing along on a reconnaisance trip, and decided to go up his trouser leg possibly to enjoy a sleep also. Harâ€" ry, feeling an unusual sensation, awakened from his slumbers and on Miss C. Fettes R.N. visited with her sisters, Mrs Neil McEachnie and Miss Anne Fettes. Miss Fettes and the McEachnie family spent the week end at Wasaga Beach. Sorry toreport Mrs. Chas. Wale still continues very ill with pneumonia. Haying is the main work on the farms at present. A good crop and showery weather will prolong the season.
