Harvesting is going steadily on but rather slowly, as much of the grain is lodged, but with the fine weather, is progressing. Frost several nights last week did not do a bit of good to the gardens or late maturing crops. We are sorry to learn that George Haw is not in his usual good health at present, and we fear he will not be able to enjoy the oldâ€"time fiddlers‘ contest at the Exhibition, where Mr. Haw likes to meet his oldâ€"time friends Milford Corbitt, Dan White and Geo. Watson left this neighborhood last week in search of more money and not such hard work. They went to ‘Thornbury and Collingwood disâ€" trict. Mr and Mrs John Aldcorn visited last week with Shelburne and MciInâ€" tyre friends. Dick Hardy left for the city Sunâ€" day, where he will meet Mrs Hardy and daughters, and may spend a day zt the Ex. before returning. Mr and Mrs W. J. McLeod, also daughter Carl of Lambton Mills, with their respective mothers, Mrs. Parâ€" slow of Dundalk and Mrs. McLeod of Swinton Park, are away this week on a trip, taking in the Quints, North Bay, Ottawa, Kingston and other points of interest. : J.
