'_ To | Beparator, at work, attracted much attenâ€" : Iflln, [ tion and inspection, and we expect he will x i receive a good number of orders for the | machine as a consequence. Mr. Cochane tory. | is determined to keep up with the requireâ€" ‘meuts of the ave. be y 169 to administer pretty hard raps, to pam; trying to pilfer tarts and pies. The disâ€" _ â€" The display of roots was very fair, parâ€" tiealarly in potatoes and mangels which were said to be far superior to those shown in the Industrial this year at Toronto. Mr 5. Edge showed a fine collection of vegoâ€" tables, Some of the potaices were very large and clean. We also noticed several new varieties of a white kind, which were very large, and appeared to be of an excelâ€" lent quality. Melons, citrons, squashes, &e. were well represented. 1 cent, 5. Arrowsmith showed some of the finest plums we ever saw, being as large as good sized pears, and pear shaped. Tomatoes, peppers, and grapes were well represented. The display of butter, as is generally the case, was very good, and some nice cheese was also shown. In Fruit, owing to the severe frost early in the sumimer there was a great falling off in this department. Some very fine pears, apples, and crab apples were shown. â€"Mr. IN THE HALL. ' The inside show was very fine in many | of the departments the only â€" deficiency i noticeable was in Apples, in which class | there were very few entries, but some fine apples were â€" shown. One side of the hall on the first floor was taken up with grain. The first prize barley was very white, but the rest of the barloy was not so bright in color. Oats were good. There was a grand display of sparg aud ilt\ll wheat, most of it of the finest quality, bflud it would be no discredit to the Provinâ€" cial show. â€" Peas were very nice and clean. Mr. A. Cochrane had on display a fine colâ€" lection of stoves. Mr. Jolin Shewell, of this Town, showed a very hundsome set ol Furniture. Mr. R. MeKay, of Walke:ton, showed one of his superior Fanning Mills. These Mills are becoming more popular and the sale of them is gradually extending all over Western Ontario. Mr. T. Swan, of Mount five vehicles taking 1st for 1st for pheator, and 1st Swan showed a Ontier th Mr. R. MeFarlane, of Durham, showed two single buggies, taking 2nd prize for oue and a speciol prize for the other. Mr. T. Swan, of Mount Forest, showed five vehicles taking 1st for Market waggon, 1st for pheator, and 1st for cutter. Mr mages, bu very good. The exlubition of horses was very good, ,enpecinlly in carriage teams, and in cattle there is a marked improvement, over forâ€" ‘mcr years. _ Still we cannot compare yet, with thoroughâ€"bred cattle of some fairs. There were some good sheep on exhibition, but not quite so many as last year. Pigs were well represenied and the show of . Poultry was very fair. The show of carâ€" __ We are of opinion that the building for the exhibition of ladies work and domestic manufactures should be enlarged, and if the prize List was extended and an admission fee of 25 cents charged, with a reduction to families it would tend to make the show | a greater suceess than it has been.
