The Preabytery, in considering the quesâ€" tion of pulpit supply for Sarawak and N. Keppel, agreed that the time had come to mauke two congregntiqns of the four staâ€" tious of that pastoral charge,and accordingâ€" ly cited the Congregations to appear for their mterests at an adjourned meeting of Presytery, to be helid in Division street Chareh, Owen Sound, on the 4th day of October, at half past one o‘ciock p. m. Mr. Beott was instucted to announce this deâ€" eision to the congregation of Lake Charles and N. Keppel on the 25th of Seyt., and Mr. Stephenson to announce the same in Sarawak and Kemble congregations on the 2nd Oct. Mr. Colter acked leave of absence from his field of labor (owing to i!1 health) for a term of six months, if necescary. The folâ€" lowing resolution was passed unanimonsly: *That the Presbytery does express its deep sympathy with Mr. Colter in his present afthetion ; that 1t looks with the greatest satisfaction on the liberal and hbearty fiâ€" nancial provision made by the congregnâ€" tion in the expected absence of their pastor ; that on the congregation‘s tailng to‘ secure a continuons supply as expected, it agreed to supply the pulpit for three months that 16 grants to Mr. Oolter leave of absence for six months, if necessary ;and that it pray God in His Gooduess He may esâ€" tablish our brother to resume his work among his own people." Mr. Stephenson was appointed to arrange with the brethren for the supply of Mr. Coiters place, if neâ€" cessary. Mr. Donald McLean was examined with a view of entering a course of study in Knox College for the ministry. ‘The exâ€" amination was sustained. p Messrs Graham and Snider prosonied discourses, which were referred to n comâ€" mittee, At a subsequent discomso were sustained, and the Clerk instruct=d to cer tify these students and others laboring within the bounds of the Presbytery in acâ€" cordance with the fact in each case. The conveners of the Home Mission Committee was instructed to apply for the grunts due on the first of Oct. from the Asâ€" sembly‘s H. M. Fuod. A petition signed by filtyâ€"six names was preâ€" sented pruying the Presbytery to establish a mission station near Woodford. It was anpported by Messrs. Robertson and Thompson. The Presbytery agreed to reâ€" eeive the petition and notify neighboring sessions to appear for their interest at the next regular meeting of Presbytery, when the Presbytery will take action on the peâ€" tition.
