zP â€"i A) |; | {* Danenbauer and kis parents was very af fecting. The body of an unknown man was tound in the woods near Jarvis on Friday, the desensed had evidently been burned to death by his camp fire. Their popular styles are sold every. The Winnipeg Sun of May 6th says :â€" The water this morning was six inches higher than it was last night. The II B. reserve, from Waterâ€"street to Groadway, is completely flooded over,. Every house on Water and Notre Dame streets from the river west to No. 30 is washed out. Pratt and Boucher, merchauts, on Notre Dame, have had to remove all their goods to the upper flat of their buildings, and are temâ€" porarily closed up until the flood subsides. Lieutenantâ€"Governor Cauchon‘s block at the foot of Broadway is completelyâ€" surâ€" rounded by water. The Icelandic habitaâ€" tions are all swamped, and what few arâ€" tigles of furniture they possess are piled out upou the roof. ‘The variety of steal pens manufactured |â€" by the Esterbrook Stegl Pen Co. includes q UL,M. size and style for counting house, school nd- engrossing purposes. | , andâ€"restoring its natural color. Another drauggist says that he sells three or four times as much of Hall‘s, as of all others.â€" Hampshire Express, Amkerst, Massachusâ€" sets. The market is fall of preparation for the hair, some of them good, and some of them goodâ€"for nothing. R. P. Hall & Co., of Nashus, N. H., manufacture and sell an article of real merit, which has been adverâ€" tised in the Ezpress for the past year, and we have taken no little pains to inquire how it has been liked by the public. _ One of our draggists informs us that he has sold more thian double the amount of Renewer than of all other hair preparations combinâ€" ed, and when a person once uses it, he will use o other; that it is not only bought by the young people as a dressing, but by oldâ€" er persons for removing dandruaff, preseryvâ€" ing and increasing the growth of the bair witnesses the jury brought in a verdiet that Daniel Dewal had come to his death by a blow from an» axe in the bands of Henry Yorke, and that Yorke was guilty of manâ€" slafightor. After this verdiet was received a warrant was made out for the arrest of Yorke, but owing to his illness it is not likely that he will be removed to the county gaol at Barrie for a fow days, if indeed desth does not ensue from the injuries he inflicted on himself while attempting suiâ€" cide, If herecovers sufficiently he will be sont to await his trial at the next Assizes. Eo C ce The evidence brought out at the inquest brought the guilt home to Yorke. ‘The medical evidence as to the cause of death, the deposition of the dead man, the confes. sion of Yorke himself made previous to his victim‘s doath, wore all strongly condemnâ€" ‘ atory. After hearing the evidence of the ifbinatofiatitirataiintssics this died. Before dying he made a deposition setting forth the particulars of the quarrel, which corresponded with the above version. On visiting the house of the deceased, his widow and six little ones were found bemoaning the loss of him who had been their only provider, one poor little urchin about three years old asking almost incessâ€" antly, "Where is Pa ?" and the sadâ€"hearted mother had no words of answer. The poor 1 little one was at length consoled and fell asleep, while the rest of the children stood round in hushed expectancy. 1 IMibhitigiti.. xc sn follows :â€"Daniel Dewal was a tenant of Yorke and lived in‘ a house less than one fourth of a mile distant. He and Yorke had a dispute about part of the land which Dewal had rented, and which had been newly chopped. Yorke wished to use the land himself, and went there with an axe on Wednesday last to work clearing the land up. Dewal seeing him there, ordered him to leave, which York refused to do. They sat down on a log beside each other to talk the matter over, when Dewal tamâ€" h(hioluonnyhrlmomou, and lookâ€" |â€" ing round again saw York strike at bim | 1 with an are. He attempted to ward off I‘J the blow, but was too late, as it came down r with terrible force on his forehea1, felling : him senseless to the ground. On recover. ’ d ing" éoneciousness he found York standing | f over him with a revolver and threatening I i tofinish his fiendish work by blowing his 2 brains out. In a stupor the unfortunate victim staggered to his home and inform od his wife of what bad oceurred, the gash N om his forehead bearing fearfol testimony to the truth of his statemont and the design of his assailant. Information was lodged with a J. P. named Brock, but he being ill and unable to attend to the case, the parties 'I mét and came to an agrsement, by which Dewal in consideration of a paltry $20 barâ€" | EJ gaimned not to prosecute the criminal for| _ the crime which in a fow days was to hurry him to his grave. ‘Thus the affair stood 0 until Sunday, when Dewal appearing to l be loosing his faculties by stupor, medical .::: assistance was called in, but it was of no avail. On Mor.day there were symptoms of pneumonia in addition, and on Tuesday he died. Before dying he made a deposition S: setting forth the particulars of the quarrel, sofuitfuntrach SS VE is Wilcp P GAelg the afternoon from the affects of a tlow from an aze given him by another farmer named Henty Yorke. Yorke made an attempt at suicide twice during the forencon, onee by attempting to eut his throat, and farling 19 fltil.lnhlwrfly afterward ascended to the roof of the house and threw l:imself down, receiving injuries of a very serious nature. The particulars of the quarrel learned before the inquest were briefly as Preyetiarovmnuexrt, May 17.â€"Late last evening the news reached Penetanguisl that a farmer named Daniel Dewal, living about nine miles from here, in the township ol Finu Sincess pa DL Oe Came **«#++......_._._., was guilty of manâ€" rerdiet was received ut for the arrest of his illness itis not «, had died during the L W 3SPRL Some beang;, ) 7 "7; SV RPABracketCLOCK®, | The undersigned has also received a large st Some beaptiful designs in Silver and Elecâ€"| yarq up ; Men‘s nobby Felt Hats at 60 cents tro Plated Ware at at 25 cents.
