Mr. Matheson, of Priceville is to address an entertarnment in the church this Tuesday evening, gotton up by the Endeavorers as an anniversary. Great sympathy goes out to Mr. and Alrs. W. L. Dixon on the loss of their son Willie, at the early and interesting age of 9 years. The funeral was largeâ€" ly attended on Sunday last. The reâ€" mains rest in the old Ebenezer graveyard where Mr. Dixon‘s pareuts are baried. Rev. Mr. Humphrey preached an able sermon in the church after the funeral. Sad indeed was the home coming of Mr. J. Fergnuson jr. on Satarday night last, to find ns father had suceambed to bloodâ€" poisoning caused by the fatal accident which befel him a couple of weeks ago; and also to find his young wife in such a low siate of healith as to be unable to reconize him, and on Sunday morning death also claimed her for his victim. The young couple had only been married a couple of monunths. Much sympathy is felt for the afflicted families in this their sad hour of bereayement. Very startling was the news on Sunâ€" day forenoon that the grim reaper had taken another of our well known residâ€" ¢nts in the persor of Mrs. Jas. Renwick. Yeovii. She was ont as usual milking and being longer than usual, Mr. Revâ€" wick took a look and found her sitting on the stool, but evidently ill. She was removred to the house but died a‘â€" most instantly. Her death has cast a gloom over this community where so many of her children reside, and great sympathy is felt for the aged hnsband in the loss of the partner of his life. On Tuesday evening last a missionary lecture, illustrated by suereopticon views was dolivered by Rey. Mr. Westgate, in the school house, The illustrations emâ€" braced views of South America,. Allan is engaged this summer again in gathering the cream for Durham Creamery. Mr. W. Sirr Jr. gathers for Hcolsteim Creamery. LOWER TOWN, DURWAM DROMORE. \ _ Mrs. Neil MoPhail of Duluth is spendâ€" ing a few weeks at Mr. Johu McPhail‘s. ) Much sympathy is felt here over the ) loss of our worthy councilman, Mr, Thos: Fergneon. The township will in general miss him greatly, as he was the right man in the right place, and would have | left a good mark had his precious life been | saved. Mr. Ferguson was well liked all | over the township as could be seen by the | large number of votes he carried in eyery | division in the township. We extend our | heartfelt sympathy to the widow and | famnly in this their sad bereavement. What we hear. The sound of the Boothvilie picolos coming through the bush about dark and going around the sideroad on the home Istretch. No person has shown up this spring to take charge of what is known as the Robt Smmuith farm, hence it is now open to the public as a commons, and the money‘s worth of stock that now treads therecn would ba considerable. We feel grieved to mention the sad death of Mr, Andrew Goodfellow our popular mull man of Traverston mills Seemingly his short duration of sickâ€" ness cailed for a medical operation which proved fatal, _ His remains were taken near ‘Leeswater for icterment. He leaves a wife and some five or «ix small children, who have the sympathy of the locaity in their sad bereavement. Miss Eliza Duncan has been on the sick list for two weeks, but is on the mend of late. Nrs. John McLesn has also been under the Dr‘s, care for some time but is now improying. Mr. Ches. Boyle delivered a p ir of three year old steers in Markdale last week which weighed 2745 los and netted him the handsome sum of §$111.66 they were good ones.
