Another tousing meeting was held ; at 4 p. m. on Sunday last. the attenâ€"| dance being eyen greater than Lhei week previous. The speaker of the| day was Rev. Mr. Burns, Corinth, and his ringing eloquent address will nct soon be forgotten. Mr. Wm. Laidlaw was chairman,\ and in his opening address spoke vigorously on some topics supggested by a campaign card issued by the liquot party. He showed that no true liberty was interfered with, what we wished was to give liberty to men bound in drink‘s chains. The claim of direct taxation, and the principle of compensation were also shown to be quite capable of successtul refutation. The choirs of the town as before rendered excellent service, and their rendering of ‘"‘Throw out the Life line" | was especially thrilling and effective. Mr. Burns lectured con â€" amore. ‘ His remarks were intended chiefly for charch members and he chose as his text the question of Elijah to the people of Israel *‘How long halt ye between two oiinions." He showed clearly that the indifferent man wAS really helping the enemy, and was bringing uFon himself the curse of the people of Meroz, who went not into the Lord‘s battles, but remained ,passive spectaâ€" tors.
