- John Joseph McEntee was born at Rochester, New York in 1847. He entered St. Michael's College in Toronto in 1860 and the Grand Seminary at Montreal in 1867. He was ordained on 18 October 1870 at St. Michael's Cathedral in Toronto and appointed assistant at St. Paul's Church in Toronto where he remained for four months. In March 1872, he was appointed Parish Priest at Dixie and from 1877 to 1883 he was priest at Oshawa and Whitby. He moved to Port Colborne and Welland Church in 1890 and was pastor of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.
McEntee died at Longue Point, QC on 11 August 1911 andn is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Toronto. - Date of Original
