- Black and white negative showing the removal of the original wooden western breakwater at Whitby Harbour.
- Notes
- In the summer of 1956, the western breakwater made of stone and log cribs was removed and replaced with a new breakwater constructed of stone and steel. The dock where the pier joined the breakwater was also reconstructed at this time. The remainder of the pier was rebuilt in 1958.
