- Frederick Thomas Rowe was born at Whitby Township on 6 January 1873 and lived in the Almonds area until he moved to the Town of Whitby in 1929. He married Mary Ann Kemp at Whitby Township on 27 December 1899.
Frederick Rowe was involved in Whitby Township and Town of Whitby politics from 1912 to 1944. He was elected mayor in 1938 to 1944. In 1935, he became the first deputy reeve to be elected warden of Ontario County. From 1945 to 1950, Frederick served on the Whitby Public Utilities Commission. He died at Oshawa on 21 December 1959 and is buried in Mount Lawn Cemetery.
Mary Rowe was born at Whitby on 12 February 1876. She was a Sunday School teacher at the Whitby United Church and she was given lifetime membership in the church's Women's Association on her 50th wedding anniversary in 1949. Mary died on 18 March 1951 and is buried in Mount Lawn Cemetery. - Date of Original
