- Image depicting Elizabeth Buchanan, who was born in 1845. She later married Rev. Robert McAlpine Thornton in Glasgow, Scotland on July 20, 1871. She died at London, England on March 28, 1932.
Rev. Thornton was the second son of Rev. Dr. Robert Hill Thornton, the first Presbyterian minister in Whitby Township. Rev. Thornton was a noted minister of churches in Glasgow and later in London, England and died in London, July 19, 1913. - Date of Original
