- Harold Slichter was born at Toronto. He moved to Whitby in 1941 where he operated at flower nursery for the family business, Slichter's Florists of which he was president.
Slichter was a member of Whitby Town Council from 1962-1967 and a member of the Whitby Planning Board from 1962-1965 and 1968-1970. He was president of the Whitby Kiwanis Club in 1958.
Slichter died at Tampa, Florida on 2 April 1975. - Date of Original
