The Conservatives have given $125,000,000 to muiti-national corporations and yet, a decisiion made in a board room in another country tonight couid put you out of a job tomorrow. Cor- porate decisions affecting Canadians must be made here in Canada. Educational costs. Home- owners are staggering under the unfair load of education tax. A new Democratic government wouid shift 80%/ of educational costs on to the Province by adding 1% to corporate taxes a capital gains tax a heavier tax on resources ieaving the province. Auto insurance. The recently introduced Ontario plan does nothing to check rising insurance rates. A New Democratic govern- ment wili introduce in Ontai io a plan simîilar to those in Saskatch- ewan and Manitoba, where com- pensation will be paid, regardless of fauit. And where therewili be an end to costly, prolonged court batties for victims who are forced to fEght auto insurance com pan jes. Pollution. New Democrats want to curb pollution, not just measure it. An expanded Depart- ment of the Environment would move to protect those hardest hit by pollution - the ordinary people. Agriculture. Time's running out for the Ontario farmer. Every three hours an Ontario farmer gives up his farm. Those who remain earn barely a $1 an hour. New Democrats believe that the famnily farm must continue as the basic producing unit. A New Democratic goverfi- ment would legisiate against ownership by non-residents, re- strict the integration of large corporations into farmn produc- tion, and provide assistance to expand operations individually or through co-operative owner- ship.
