A major item on the Whitby baseball scene this week is the announcement that the.Attersley Tire and Sports Club will o p e r ate in the Eastern Ontario Base- b a t I Association in the coming season as a Junior entry. The club made its debut 1 ast year in the E.O. B. A. Juven- i 1 e se ries. Seven teams will compete in the E.O. B. A. Junior circuit; Kings- ton, Keene, Kendall, Port Hope, New- c a stle and Whitby. The Whitby club is s c h e duled to open its 24-game season w i th a flourish, travelling to Kingston on May 27th for a double-header, ret- urning to E. A. Fairman the next day for their. home opener against Port Hope. McArthur and Hanley Back M ike McArthur and Pat Hanley will agai n team up to guide the Attersley club with Hanley acting as General Man- ager looking after most of the adminis- trative duty, while McArthur will han- d t e the coaching reins. McArthur, the president of the WMBA and an Execut- ive member of the E. O.B.
