For African violets you could find a sh a dy p lace outside, and place the the plants in trays that contain water. The Af r i can violets vvil11 soak up the moisture. Another way of keeping your violets is by placing them in the laun- dry tub or bath tub vvAith an inch of wat- er. For other houseplants, you could use any of the above suggestions. For cactus, 'however simply use asemi shaded area wvithout any tray or bas- in under the pot. Anything that would hol1d water around the roots will1 only cause rotting of the cactus.
