Liberal Peter Connolly, defeated Liberal in Oshawa-Whitby ridung,is consoled by supporters in his King Street East campaign headquarters. He was a distant third behind NDP Broadbent and Tory Mi ke Starr. Victorious Frank McGee checks final polil tally with a worker at Pickering headiquarters. He was hard put to it to nose out Cafik and, even now, the officiai decision wil'l remain in doubt until the recount. Starr was beaten by over 1,000 votes. NOP Candidate Aiban Ward, in Ontario riding, smiles for the cameraman though in the throes of defeat.
