The Tiremen led 1-0 afler the first îwenîy minutes of play on an unassisted goal by Tom MacLeish at the 11:13 mark. MacLeish picked up the loose puck at the side of the Legionaires net and skated out in front and fired the puck past a very surprised Mark Logan in the Oshawa net. The Whitby club played their best hockey in weeks, as they were determined to win this ahl important gaine. Don Nicholson put the Tiremen ahead 2-0 at 15:24 of the second period as scor- ing his first of îwo goals.
