No person shall fire or set off or cause to be to be f ired or set off any exhibition fire works, fire works or family fire works of any kind whatsoever within the limits of the Town of Whitby except on the days set by Statute for the observation of Victoria Day, and then only on his or ber own property. Provided if special autliority by a permit issued by the Council of the said Town of Whitby any person may fire or set off exhibition fire works, fire works or family fire works in other places or on other days. Such permits shall define the location where the aforesaid exhibition fire works, fire works or family fire works are to be set off and shaîl require that they shall be set off under the direction of the Fire Chief or his designate for the Town of Whitby Fire De- partment. The fire works or family fire works to be set off under such permit shahl be under the supervision of a responlsible person of at least 21 years of age. Exhibition fire works must be fired under- the supervision of a "Fireworks Supervisor". 6. No person shail set off exhibition fire works, fire crackers, fire works or family fire works on any public street or roadway within the Town of Whitby at any time. 7. Any person who contravenes any of the pro- visions of By-law 378-8 7. Any person who contravenes any of the pro- visions of By-law 378-70 shahl, upon conviction, be hiable to a penalty not exceeding $300.00, recoverable under the Summary Convictions Act, ail of the provisions of which shahl apply except that imprisonment may be for a term of not more than twenty-one days.
