AJAX GOUNCIL BRIEFS Mayor C.A. Mason officially welcomed David Low as the new Administrator of the Town of Ajax at the first meeting of the Ajax Council followiQig the recent electionsi for the Region of Durham representatives. Mr. Low came to Ajax about two weeks ago froni Fer- gus to take over his new duties. Deputy-reeve Mary Reid asked the Council to lOOk into the feasability of having cy.'ling paths designated in the Town of Ajax. "Other municipalities are providing cycling path locations; I don't see. why Ajax can'lt--- designate certain streets in the Town as cycling routes for those who can cycle and enjoy this form of recreation." The Council agreed'to have the Committee look into the suggestion. The Ajax Council appoii. î.-e following Colin A. Mackie, Reeve K.D. Trebilcock, Jim Smith and Hugh' Irvine to the be Building Committee members. They were authorized by a by-law to be the Committee for the construction of a Community Centre and supplemental facilities. The Town- Council also passed two by-laws authorizing the execution of Quit Caùn Deeds in two sections of the' Town. This means that the, Town has given up a land which is Town property and is being used for other purposes."
