This past week lias been a frustrating one for the Legionaires, Whitby's entry in the E.O.B.A. Pee-Wee series. Both of their weekend gamnes were washed out wîtb the heavy rains which swept the area on Saturday and Sunçiay, and their gamne on Thursday in Oshawa was called off because of a curfew at Oshawa's Kinsmen Stadium. The Legionaires were scheduled to journey to Lindsay on Sat. and to Trenton on Sunday, and although skies were clear in Whitby Sunday afternoon allowing a gamne at Peel Park, things were stili dripping in Trenton and the contest had to be cancelled. On Thursday the Legionaires met the Oshawa Legionaires, came back from a 2 - 0 deficit to tie the gamne in the sixth inrning of the seven inning regula tion affair and forced extra innings. As the front end of a double header scheduled in the Stadium, there was a curfew on the gamne which was called and will be repiayed tonight in Oshawa. The Legionaires got hits from Mike Welhing, Paul Heffer, Murray McCorkell, Grant Leitch and Greg Puchalski to comne from behind. Larry Chizen was on the mound for the Legionaires and held Oshawa to flive hits, coninuing the steady pitching pattern he has shown in every outing this season. The McDonaids Restaurant Big Macs continued to run up high scores dropping Courtice 15 - 2 early in the week and coasting to an easy 22 - 2 victory over Ajax in a gamne 1on Sunday played at Peel Park rather tlhan E.A. Other Big Mac hits went to Ian Gillis, Bret Hoffnan, Tim Twining and Bîsir Gibson. On Sunday, Dave McWhirter scattered five hits as the Big Macs drubbed Ajax Mercury Furniture 22 - 2 in a game halted after seven innings because it appeared as if Ajax had no ch ance of catch ing up. The McDonald's sou thpaw was' in command ail the way as the Big Macs gave him a big cushion to work with, leading 13 - 2 by the fourth inning. He helped his own cause with a triple and double, sharing hitting honours with Brett Hoffman who had two singles and a double. Cam Murkar, Fred Petryshyn, Doug Shearer, Mark Mac- Donald, Tim Twining each had a pair with Jody Turner adding a single in the sixteen hit attack.
