Iroquois Park Driving SkiII Test If you think you are a good driver, you wll havea chance te prove it in the Oshawa Motor Sport Club's dniving skill test at the County Town Car nival. The test, which takes the form of a slalom course at the Iroquois Park Arena park- ing lot, gets under way with registration and scrutineering at 9:30 a.m. July 28, follow- ed by the first run at 11:30 a.m. Ten classes are open te anyone whose car is con- sidered road worthy by the scrutineers and who has a valid driver's licence. At the tume of scrutineering the cars will be assigned te the vanieus classes according te ype., There will aise be a special ladies' class. Drivers wili receive one point per second of tinte taken, twe points for knock- ing down pyloris. and 50 points for going. off course, The driver with the least number of points wins as he is pitted against the dlo'C k and everyone else in bis class. Entries wfil be received from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with judging from 1: 30 p.m. to 3 p.m. From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the show will be open to the public. Forty-five classes are open this year,,fine for flower ar- rangements. four for plants. and the remairider for speci- men flowers. Any resident of the Durham Region'is et- igible to enter, and may have his or her entry accepted at, the door. A large number of people who were not meuq- bers of the Brooklin Society participated last year, with 158 entries from 30exhibitors. The Brookljn Horticultuàral Society, in addition te its flower show, wil..have. a booth -in the Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair, and a float in the carnival parade. Swim Meet- The Whitby Recreation Department and the Whitby YMCA, are teaming- up again this year for the Cdunty Town Carniival swim meet. Children six Io 15 'are invited to register for the meet, whiclh will be hield at the Kinsmen Park pool Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. Competitors will swim ag- ainst the dlock, with red rib- bons awarded to those who equal. the time pested or exceed that time. Ail en- trants must be able te swim the full distance of the course. Registration forms are av- ailable ilow at the YMCA office at the Cen tennial Build- ing, at the three Y camps, at the recreation department office in the fire hall and at the town playground pro- grams.
