TiLre Whi*tby's Top Citi zen Brian 'Peter Perry' Winter has been named by the Whitby Jaycees as the town 's outstanding young Canadian for 1974. Winter, 27, was namned winner of the Peter Perry Awafd in July. Hie was the youngest recipient of the award given to Whitby's out- standing citizen annually. With the most recent hon- or bestowed upon himn, Win- ter is a candidate for one of the five Vanier awards for outstanding young Canadians to be awarded March 1 in Calgary. The Jaycees nominated him for his work as archivist of the Whitby Historical Society. In that capacity, he collected pictures and docu- ments of the town and haS acquired a microfilm set of back issues of Whitby news- papers frorn 1850 to 1917 for the Public Lîbrary.
