The Brooklin-Whitby Consolidated Building Corpor- ation Juvenile Allstars parti- cipated in the recent Picton Juvenile Tournanent and came home with the consola- tion prize. In their first gaine, the C.B.C.'s locked sticks with Owen Sound in what turned out to be a very exciting game and was the talk of the tournament. Owen Sound scored the winning goal in the second 10-minute sud- den-death overtime period to make the score 3-2. The C.B.C.'s had a goal disallowed in the first period which, as it turned out, probably cost them the game. An official ruled that play had been whistled dead before the goal because an Owen Sound player had been injured. Whether or not the whistle had indeed sounded before the goal is, to say the least, questionable. In fact, one official pointed to the centre-ice faceoff circle, indicating that he feit the goal had been scored before the whistle. le was overruled. Owen Sound's Rick Powell scored the first official goal of the game at 4:33 of the second period. Dan Jordan tied the garne for the C.B.C.'s at 6:31 of the third period and, while killing a penalty, scored the go-ahead goal. However, with just 22 seconds remaining Steve McCallum's powerplay goal for Owen Sound sent the CBC Juvenile Allstars win consolation prize gamne into overtimne. The first overtime period featured exciting end-to-end hockey and it was the same in the second overtime stanza until Owen Sound's Brad Forsland scored the winner, a powerplay goal at 6:57. Owen Sound goaltender Rick Gibbons was chosen the game's Most Valuable Player as, time and again, he thwarted C.B.C. attempts in overtime. The second game saw the C.B.C.'s trounce the Trenton Minor Juveniles 7-1. Tim Brown tallied the hattrick for the winners while Garry Bruce scored twice and Glen Johnston and Ed Szczui once each. Bob Poisson was the only Trenton player who was able to beat the C.B.C. goaltender Bob Wilson. Timn Brown, kwith his hattrick, was picked the most valuable player of the game. The third game, for the consolation prize, found the C.B.C.'s confronted by the host Picton Juveniles. Mike Wolff recorded the shutout as the C.B.C.'s won 5-0. Tim Brown, Dan Gallogley, Rick Pigeau, Ed Szczur and Jim DeMille provided the C.B.C.'s with the necessary offensive punch. Jim DeMille added three assists. Jim DeMille was judged the game's most valuable player although goaltender , Mike Wolff came up with several key saves the preserve the shutout. M....Mmmmý
