Council refuses self serve gas bar company to refer matter to lawyer Sheil Canada Limited may sk its lawyer to take whatever action may be ppropriate" as a result of VItby Council's refusai to -.eal with an application by the comipany for a self-serve gas bar at Dundas Street and Thickson Road. In a recent letter to council, R. J. Annesley of Sheil Canada wrote "We have been advised by our Retail Marketing Department that the, Town of Whitby has refused to deal with our application even though we are prepared to proceed under the terms and condi- tions of the Ontario Municipal Board ruling". "This action, or lack of action, on the part of the Town of Whitby comes as a surprise to us", he wrote. "We will ultirnately be obliged to refer thiis matter to our solicitors for whatever action may be appropriate", Mr. Annesley wrote. "We would take this step with somne reluctance and not before we had assured our- selves that a building permit could not be obtained in the normal course of procedure". Apparently, the Town lias not made a definite decision on the Shell applicationi. Onlyfewmore working days unhil the mnilon dollar Prmncialdmaw. $5 gets you 5 chances at $1 million - Halloween night.
