Police suspect no foui play. By-law parked Whitby Council decided on Monday to table, until its next meeting, a by-law which would reduce the parking limiit on roads from 23 lu, three hours. Earlier in the evening, council hiad decided by a vote of 4-3 to, reduce the limnit, a mlove which would have brought Whitby in line with the other municipalities in the region. Councillor Tom Edwards, at that time, spoke out against the move, saying "I can see no sense in this blanket, blunderbuss policy" and explaining that there is no sense in reducing the 23-hour limit for the entire town when there are only a few problem areas. Councillor Edwards' comments must have w'orked because, when it came time to pass the by-law, council decided by a vote of 4-3 to table.
