SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS The EasternOntario Figure ~Skating Championships will be held from Dec. 10 to 12 at the Iroquois Park Arena. The public is invited to attend. Events are scheduled for the evening ofDec. 10, and ail day Dec. il and 12. FIREFIGHTERS' DANCE The Whitby Firefighters Association, Local 2036 is holding a dance at Heyden- shore Paviion,- Saturday, starting at 8:30 p.m. The dance will include a luhnch and door prizes. Tickets are available at the main fire hall at Brock and Colborne Streets at $ 10 a couple. DANCE The WhitbY Men's Athletic Association is holding its annual dance Friday at 8:30 p.m. at I-eydenshore Pavilion, with music by a live band. HISTORICAL PLAY Actress Pauline Carey will play the part of the Canadian pioneer Anna Jamneson in a special presentation at the Whitby Public Library Thurs- day at 8 p.m. The play outlines the life and times of Mrs. Jameson, the wife of 1Upper Canada's first vice- chancellor, the first white :woman to shoot the rapids at Sault Ste Marie., Admission is free.
