F. V. Reddy (right) in the presentation of $2,200 to the Bloorview Children's Hospital, Toronto. The money was raised by a Knights of Malta Telethon, one of the many, charitable projects of the Order. Also in the picture are several Knights of Malta and their wives. The first presentation of hiaif of the recent Knights of Malta Telethon proceeds was made last month to Blourview Children's Hospiital in, Willow- dale. This hospital which is the only one of its type in Canada, was presented with a cheque of $2,200 by the Prior of Canada, tfie Noble Joseph Frendo-Cumbo, of Brooklin. Mrs. F. V. Reddy, President of the Hospital Governing Board accepted the donation on behaîf of the hospital. Recently, Bloorview celebrated its 7Sth anniversary. In its 7Sth year history the hospital bas had a prestigious list of benefactors. It- has been a memorable year for the staff and patients of Bloorview, to move froîn an old and restrictive building near Bloor and Jarvis to its new location at Leslie and Shepherd. Most of the young patients at Bloorview are handicapped. They have either cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, rneningomiyelocele or soine other relatcd afinment. They are looked after by the staff and volunteers in the miodemn . yet honme-like ait!nosphere of the newv buildings. A tour %vas given to the Kniglits and thieir ladies by Mrs. Shirley Marten and Miss Cathy Tressider. Two-tliirds of theoperating costs of the institution are provided by the Ministry of l-ealth of the Province of Ontario, and t he other one- third [romn private donatîins. WANT TO KNOW HOW TO LIE DOWN ON THE JOB?, BE A + BLOODONOR Conservation Authority receives $p12,500 grant to complete worksh.op in Heber Down Area The Central ILa ke Ontario Conservation Authority bas received a provincial grant of $ 12,500 to carry out the second phase of construc tion on a service centreand work- shop building located in the Heber Down Conservation Area. The grant cornes from the Min istry of Natural Resources under the Conservation Authorities Act, and matches a $1 2,500 grant fromn the Region of Durhanm. Construction of the sheli- of the service centre began in September with grants of $ 15,000 each frorn the province and region. The present grant is being used to f inish the interior, instal water- and hydro services, sewers and heating. The money is also being usedto provide storage cupboards, work benches and tools and supplies. The service centre is a wood building,- 36 by 55 feet, with two bays for trucks and tractors. The building is designed to service the western portion of the CLOCA watershed between Simcoe Street in Oshawa and the Town of Ajax.
