The main problem,. says Recreation Director Wayne DeVeau, is that not enough people are using the pool during the day, Monday through Friday, and the public swim periods are flot used enough. Mr. DeVeau' first pro- posai to correct this matter is to initiate special times during the week for elemen- tary and secondary schools to use the pool free-of charge, exclusive of lifeguard costs, effective SePt. 6. For a limited time, young people will be given one free pass to the Friday or Saturday night public swim, effective immediately. The reasons for these actions are to introduce more citizens to the pool and hopefully initiatb more fre- quent use by these people of public swimming periods, says Mr. DeVeau.
